A Pause on this Site

Hi Everyone!

If you’ve been a subscriber here from the beginning, you know how many iterations this site has gone through: from a series of posts about my son Gideon’s cancer and successful treatment, to a blog focused on a concept I called “Intentional Happiness,” to a more general “Intentional Living” area, and then finally to a food and healthy eating emphasis with the catchy title “Respect Food Roles.” I’ve written a cookbook, which I encourage you to purchase on this site or through Amazon. It’s focused on feeding crowds, tellingly titled Feeding the Masses without Losing Your Mind. My earlier book, Intentional Happiness, is available through the same outlets.

I’m now shifting my entire focus to my other site, Behind the Music. There I write about the meanings of choral music texts, including:

1) literary or historical background info
2) biographical material about the author of the words and, perhaps, the composer of the music
3) the meaning of the words themselves, including translations if foreign-language texts

The site has hundreds of individual articles on shorter works, all of which are available for free and which can be downloaded or printed. I also have an ever-expanding selection of books/booklets covering longer masterworks; these items are available for sale both on my site and also on Amazon.

Even if you think you’re not much of a music person, and even if you aren’t a member of a choir, I’d encourage you to head on over to Behind the Music and see what I’m doing there. I have a short video on my “About” page that will go into more detail about the site. If you like what you see, may I encourage you to subscribe? (I can’t link directly to the subscription page; see the sidebar on BTM to go there.)

See you there!
