Whew! What a week! Posts on this blog have been pretty sparse, and I didn’t get my newsletter out on Monday. So I plan to write something today and tomorrow and send the newsletter out then. Events are flying past at the speed of light. I’ll have pics and posts about our move into the new space, and I have a great book to recommend this week that will be up tomorrow.
For today, though, I want to get up the video of last week’s concert. Seems so long ago! A week ago today we were having the second rehearsal of the week and I was at the start of the food prep for Friday’s reception. And now that’s gone by, and so has the members’ annual business meeting and dinner, which I spent Tuesday preparing. Now that’s over. I have to laugh at myself about my post in which I wrote about the stretch of time going up to Saturday night as if that point were going to be the end of great efforts. Ha! When I wrote that post the house hadn’t sold yet and we weren’t under the gun about clearing out. Now we have the hardest of hard deadlines on Monday. Jim has had four of those pod things delivered, and they’re sitting in our driveway. We’ll load them up by Saturday, they’ll get picked up and moved on Sunday over to the in-laws’ house, and then we’ll have three weeks to get them unpacked. I spent yesterday painting the new kitchen downstairs and will go over today to finish that. Then it’s all packing and cleaning, all the time.
Back to the concert, which you absolutely should have attended. My experience was what typically happens when I haven’t prepared well. I felt rather disconnected from it, although by the time Friday night rolled around I was fairly confident. The consensus of opinion, though, from chorale and audience members alike, was that we had absolutely hit a high point. I could feel some of that excitement, but it was a bit muted.
Well, you can judge for yourself. The picture quality may not be too great, but the sound is fine. Enjoy the video, and then plan to come next season to a live concert. We are doing some ab-so-lute-ly fabulous stuff! (Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see all four upcoming concerts.)
